Who We Are

We are a Christ-centered, spirit-filled church committed to creating a welcoming space where all people can encounter God, experience authentic love, and grow in their faith. Rooted in the richness of culture and united by the love of Christ, we embrace the beauty of differences and the strength of community.

At Sixth Avenue Church of God, you don’t have to have it all together to belong. Whether you are strong in your faith, searching for direction, or simply seeking a place of peace, you are welcomed here.

Our Ministry

Meet Our Leadership

Bishop Raton Remikie is a devoted servant of God with a passion for preaching the Word, shepherding God’s people, and building strong, faith-filled communities. With a heart for ministry and a commitment to truth, Bishop Remikie leads with wisdom, humility, and love.

BISHOP

Raton Remikie

He is a native of Jamaica, accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1999, overcoming personal struggles through the transforming love and power of Christ. His journey is a testament to God’s grace and redemption, fueling his passion to see others experience the same life-changing hope.

He has faithfully served in various ministry roles including youth leader, deacon, young men’s coordinator, couples ministry coordinator (alongside his wife), and youth pastor. An ordained bishop in the Church of God (Cleveland, Tennessee), he previously served as Associate Pastor at New Life Fellowship Center Church of God in Lauderdale Lakes before being appointed Senior Pastor of Sixth Avenue Church of God in North Miami, Florida in 2011.

With a deep passion for missions and evangelism, Bishop Remikie  lives out his calling to “reach the lost and help the hurting.” This is not just his message, it is his lifestyle. He is married to Dr. Sharetta Remikie, and together they are the proud parents of six and grandparents of four.

Dr. Remikie has been a devoted, born-again Christian since 1999, whose life reflects a deep commitment to faith, service, and uplifting others. Her journey in Christ has shaped her passion for ministry and her heart to nurture, empower, and inspire transformation in the lives of individuals and families.

BISHOP

Raton Remikie

She has faithfully served in numerous leadership roles including Women’s Ministry President, Girls’ Ministries Director, Youth Executive Board Member, and Couples Ministry Coordinator alongside her husband. Through each role, she has been a guiding voice of wisdom, encouragement, and spiritual strength.

Beyond her ministry work, Dr. Remikie is a respected community leader and professional dedicated to advancing fairness, strengthening families, and improving outcomes for children and communities. Through her work, she has helped lead initiatives that expand access to resources, support maternal and family well-being, and build stronger, more connected communities.

Currently serving as First Lady of Sixth Avenue Church of God in North Miami, Florida, Dr. Remikie stands as a pillar of grace, compassion, and leadership, supporting the vision of the ministry while pouring into the lives of women, families, and the next generation. Together with Bishop Remikie, she is committed to building strong families, strengthening faith, and fostering a thriving, Christ-centered community.

A Place of Acceptance

We believe that every person is created in the image of God and worthy of love, dignity, and grace. Our church is a place where everyone is accepted, regardless of background, life experiences, or where they are on their spiritual journey.

We meet people with compassion, not judgment. We extend grace, not condemnation. And we create space for healing, restoration, and new beginnings.

Here, you are seen. You are valued. You belong.

A Message of Hope

We are a church grounded in hope, the kind of hope that sustains, restores, and transforms lives. No matter what you are facing, we believe that God’s promises are still true, His love is still present, and your story is not over.

Through worship, the Word, and community, we aim to uplift hearts, strengthen faith, and remind every individual that there is always hope in Christ.

We don’t just talk about hope, we live it, share it, and stand on it together.
